1. How was Abel’s faith a ‘faith in the Promises of God’? What promise did Abel believe? (Gen 4:4; Heb 11:4)
2. Why was Abel’s faith commended to him as righteousness? Why was Abel’s offering more acceptable and commendable by God? (Gen 4:4; Heb 11:4)
II. Enoch – vs. 5
3. How was Enoch’s faith a ‘faith in the Promises of God? (Gen 5:22-24; Heb 11:5)
4. Why was Enoch’s faith commended to him as righteousness? (Heb 11:5)
III. Pleasing God – vs. 6
5. What three things are absolutely impossible for man to do?

8. Why was Noah’s faith commended to him as righteousness? How did Noah construct the ark? (Heb 11:7; Gen 6:22)
9. How can these men and their faith be seen as “obedient faith”, especially concerning Noah?
